RASNADI KASHAYAM;

Rasnadi Kashayam is formulated to provide relief in the case of rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis. It embodies anti-inflammatory and analgesic as well as chronic disorders of joints and muscular system and nervous system like arthritis, facial palsy, hemiplegia are cured using Valiya Rasnadi kashayam along with specific gulikas like yogaraj guggulu/ kaishora guggulu. As the diseases gets chronic, the mode and period of intake of kashaya as well as gulikas differs. The ingredients used have treat the abdominal dysfunction occurred due to flatulence, indigestion etc. Diet restriction has to be followed strictly to avoid antagonistic reactions between medicine and the food which might delay or deter the effectiveness of the medicine.

Rasnadi Kashaya Tablet is a compressed form of kashaya in tablet form for easy usability. In the early stages of joint disorders/degeneration of joints, the inflammatory condition begins with redness, pain, and swelling which would remain for few years, unless treated with apt medicines and on a timely basis. The inflammation might even affect the rest of the joints including the upper and lower limbs. This Kashayam is one of the best solutions for resolving all kinds of joint pains and muscle pains.

The key ingredients of the Kashayam are rasna that is the most effective cure in the painful condition of arthritis and swelling as well. Other Ingredients like Vrisha, patola, harithaki, etc. acts effectively against painful conditions like redness, burning sensation, and tenderness.

ROLE OF INGREDIENTS;

Alpinia calcarata -  are shown to possess antibacterial, antifungal, anthelmintic, antinociceptive, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, aphrodisiac, gastroprotective, and antidiabetic activities.

Ricinus communis - used in traditional medicine such as abdominal disorders, arthritis, backache, muscle aches, bilharziasis, chronic backache and sciatica, chronic headache, constipation, expulsion of placenta, gallbladder pain, period pain, menstrual cramps, rheumatism, sleeplessness, and insomnia.

Sida retusa -  are used to relieve swelling, the fruits are used to relieve headache, the mucilage is used as an emollient, and the root is used to treat rheumatism 

Barleria prionitis -  has been utilized for treatment of toothache, catarrhal affections, whooping cough, inflammations, glandular swellings, urinary infection, jaundice, fever, gastrointestinal disorders and as diuretic and tonic.

Asparagus recemosus -  for upset stomach (dyspepsia), constipation, stomach spasms, and stomach ulcers. It is also used for fluid retention, pain, anxiety, cancer, diarrhea, bronchitis, tuberculosis, dementia, and diabetes.

Fagonia cretica - used traditionally as astringent, prophylactic against smallpo , antiinflammatory and in the treatment of blood vascular diseases, fever, thirst, vomiting, dysentery, asthma, urinary discharges, liver problems, typhoid, toothache, stomach problems and skin diseases.

Adhatoda beddomei - is useful in treating cold and cough, asthma and chronic bronchitis. In acute stages of bronchitis, it gives unfailing relief especially where the sputum is thick and sticky, it liquefies sputum so that it can come up more easily.

Cedrus deodara - act as expectorant and useful in curing piles, epilepsy, stones in the kidney and bladder, useful in fevers and in many other disorders. The oil is antiseptic in nature and helpful in curing skin diseases, wounds, urogenital diseases, diaphoretic as well as insecticide.

Aconitum heterophyllum - are cooling in potency and bitter in taste. They are used as expectorant, febrifuge, anthelmintic, anti-diarrhoeal, anti-emetic, and anti-inflammatory. They are also used against poisoning due to scorpion or snake bite and to cure fever and contagious diseases.

Cyperus rotundus - is a medicinal herb traditionally used to treat various clinical conditions at home such as diarrhea, diabetes, pyresis, inflammation, malaria, and stomach and bowel disorders.

Saccharum officinarum - is widely used in India in the treatment of jaundice, hemorrhage, dysuria, anuria, and other urinary diseases.

Curcuma zedoaria -  used in Ayurveda medicines for the treatment of different ailments such as diarrhoea, cancer, flatulence and dyspepsia.

Acorus calamus - is also used as a calming medicine (sedative), to induce sweating, and to treat rheumatoid arthritis and ;

Zingiber officinale -  is one of the most widely used natural products consumed as a spice and medicine for treating nausea, dysentery, heartburn, flatulence, diarrhea, loss of appetite, infections, cough, and bronchitis.

Terminalia chebula -  is a magical remedy that holds high significance in treating countless health problems including indigestion, gastritis, lung disease, obesity, impotence, cough, cold, asthma, vision defects, urinary tract infections and hair, and skin problems.

Piper chaba - is most commonly used to treat chronic bronchitis, asthma, constipation, gonorrhea, paralysis of the tongue, diarrhea, cholera, chronic malaria, viral hepatitis, respiratory infections, stomachache, bronchitis, diseases of the spleen, cough, and tumors.

Boerhaavia diffusa - cure disorders like intestinal colic, kidney disorders, cough, hemorrhoids, skin diseases, alcoholism, insomnia, eye diseases, asthma and jaundice

Tinospora cordifolia - has an importance in traditional ayurvedic medicine used for ages in the treatment of fever, jaundice, chronic diarrhea, cancer, dysentery, bone fracture, pain, asthuma, skin disease, poisonous insect, snake bite, eye disorders.

Ipomoea petaloidea - such as diuretic, anthelmintic, blood purifier, deobstruent, laxative, carminative and anti-inflammatory actions have been ascribed to this plant, besides its use to treat abdominal diseases, fevers, headache and bronchitis.

Anethum sowa  - as a carminative for the treatment of flatulence, colic and hiccups of infants and children, antioxidant, antimicrobial and antispasmodic agent.

Tribulus terrestris  - gonorrhea, liver disease (hepatitis), inflammation, joint pain (rheumatism), leprosy, coughs, headache, dizziness (vertigo), chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS), and enhancing athletic performance. Solanum indicum - is useful in the treatment of asthma, catarrh, dropsy, chest pain, chronic fever, colic, dry and spasmodic cough, oedema, scorpion stings, difficult urination, and worm infestation.

Solanum xanthocarpum - used for treating cough, fever, and heart diseases. It has several pharmacological effects like antipyretic, antitumor, hypotensive, antianaphylactic, antiasthmatic, and aphrodisiac activities.

DIRECTIONS FOR USAGE;

The dose is 12 – 24 ml, before food, at about 6 – 7 am and 6 – 7 pm or as directed by an Ayurvedic doctor.

It is usually advised to add an equal amount of water to the kashayam.

While administering, Saindhava Lavana (Rock salt), Long pepper, or sugar is usually added to the kashayam in a quantity of 1 – 3 grams per dose.

Pathya: Light food is to be taken. Nobody movement is allowed. Bathe every 3rd or 4th day in water boiled with Kokilaksha and rub Rasnadi churnam over the crown immediately. Use Balaguluchyadi for the head and Pinda tailam for the body.
