KARAPPAN THAILAM;

Karappan Thailam is a classical Siddha medicine it is used to treat Eczema and other skin diseases.

ROLE OF INGREDIENTS;

Mercurous Chloride - is corrosive to mucous membranes and used as a topical antiseptic and disinfectant.

Elettaria cardamomum -  is used to cure indigestion, nausea, vomiting and used to expel out phlegm out of the body. It is very beneficial in congestion of the lungs and other pulmonary diseases. It is also used as a laxative and used to prevent stomach pain, flatulence, and gripping.

Copper sulfate - is also used for improving wound healing, Alzheimer's disease, and treating arthritis and brittle bones (osteoporosis). It is used for some types of diarrhea, lupus, and acne.

Zinc sulphate -is used to treat many kinds of skin disorders. Sulfur cream, lotion, ointment, and bar soap are used to treat acne. Sulfur ointment is used to treat seborrheic dermatitis and ;

Cinnamomum camphora - used traditionally for the treatment of heart conditions, colds, and fevers, respiratory complaints such as pneumonia, inflammatory conditions, infections, diarrhea, and hysteria 

Psoralea corylifolia - is good to cure dyspnoea, asthma, bronchitis, and various disorders associated with the respiratory tract. It is used to relieve indigestion and also used to cure worm infestation. Seeds of this plant are used to cure various skin ;

Hydnocarpus kurzii - Bark decoction is drunk as a general tonic to improve health and in the treatment of skin conditions and internal disorders. The roots and seeds are used by Thai traditional doctors for skin diseases.

Vernonia anthelmintic - used in local medicine to cure a wide spectrum of disorders including asthma, sores, inflammatory swellings, skin ailments, kidney troubles, itching of the eyes, and hiccough

DIRECTIONS FOR USAGE;

Give internally in the dose of 2 to 5 drops with milk in the morning only. Should be applied externally also. To be applied by means of cock feathers in the areas affected by erysipelas continuously for three days and bath with lukewarm water and wash with Usilai Elai Araippu[a kind of soapnut powder] on the fourth day.
