KAYATHIRUMENI THAILAM; Kayathirumeni Thailam is one of the important traditional polyherbal medicated oils used for various ailments. It plays a major role in internal and external wound healing, sprain, fractures, headache, sinusitis, giddiness, hemoptysis, and generalized tiredness. ROLE OF INGREDIENTS; Acalypha indica - is used across many communities to treat and manage a number of diseases including ganglions, diarrhoea, leprosy, laxative, diuretic gonorrhoea, rheumatism ulcers, ringworms, eczema, intestinal worms, boils and swellings, post-partum pains, scabies, and venereal diseases. Wedelia calendulacea  -  used in dyeing grey hair and in promoting the growth of hair. They are considered a tonic, alternative, and useful in coughs, cephalalgia, skin diseases, and alopecia. Sansevieria roxburghiana  - is used as a cardiotonic, expectorant, febrifuge, purgative, tonic in glandular enlargement and rheumatism, etc. The plant is known to possess antitumor, antibacterial, antidiabetic, antimicrobial, anticancer, antioxidant, and analgesic activity. Azima tetracantha  - the plant is applied directly to treat toothache and bleeding gums after tooth extraction and also as a disinfectant. The roots are used in the treatment of rheumatism, dropsy, and stomach disorders. Coccinia cardifolia  -purposes like jaundice, diabetes, wound healing, ulcers, stomach ache, skin disease, fever, asthma, cough. Tinospora cardifolia - Tinospora cordifolia is used for diabetes, high cholesterol, allergic rhinitis (hay fever), upset stomach, gout, lymphoma, and other cancers, rheumatoid arthritis (RA), hepatitis, peptic ulcer disease (PUD), fever, gonorrhea, syphilis, and to boost the immune system. Achyranthes aspera -possesses valuable medicinal properties and used in the treatment of cough, bronchitis and rheumatism, malarial fever, dysentery, asthma, hypertension, and diabetes in Indian folklore. The present study was designed to evaluate anti-inflammatory activity. Nigella sataiva - is useful in indigestion, loss of appetite, diarrhoea, dropsy, amenorrhea, and dysmenorrhoea and in the treatment of worms and skin eruptions. Psoralea corylfolia -used as a diuretic and diaphoretic in febrile conditions. It may help in the treatment of leucoderma, leprosy, and other skin diseases. Saussurea lappa -its anti-ulcer, anti-convulsant, anti-cancer, hepatoprotective, anti-arthritic, anti-viral ; Santalam album - cold, cough, bronchitis, fever, and sore mouth and throat. It is also used to treat urinary tract infections (UTIs), liver disease, gallbladder problems, heatstroke, gonorrhea, headache, and conditions of the heart and blood vessels (cardiovascular disease). Cedrus deodara -  is used in the treatment of fevers, flatulence, pulmonary and urinary disorders, rheumatism, piles, kidney stones, insomnia, diabetes, etc. Myristica fragrans - used to treat stomach ulcers, indigestion, liver disorders, and as emmenagogue, nervine, diuretic, diaphoretic, and aphrodisiac. Shorea robusta -treat a variety of diseases including piles, leucorrhoea, gonorrhea, skin disorders, ulcers, wounds, diarrhea, dysentery, burning sensation, seminal weakness, etc. Vetiveria zizanoides -  applied directly to the skin for relieving stress, as well as for emotional traumas and shock, lice, and repelling insects. It is also used for arthritis, stings, and burns. Vetiver is sometimes inhaled as aromatherapy for nervousness, insomnia, and joint and muscle pain. Glycyrrhiaza glabra - used to treat many diseases, such as respiratory disorders, hyperdipsia, epilepsy, fever, sexual debility, paralysis, stomach ulcers, rheumatism, skin diseases, hemorrhagic diseases, and jaundice. Cuminum cyminum - used as the spice for their distinctive aroma, are also commonly used in traditional medicine to treat a variety of diseases, including chronic diarrhoea and dyspepsia, acute gastritis, diabetes, and cancer. Cinnamomum camphora -Camphor (Cinnamomum camphora) is a terpene (organic compound) that's commonly used in creams, ointments, and lotions. Camphor oil is the oil extracted from the wood of camphor trees and processed by steam distillation. It can be used topically to relieve pain, irritation, and itching. Sesamum indicum - is mildly laxative, emollient and demulcent. The seeds and fresh leaves may be used as a poultice. The antibacterial activity of seeds against Staphylococcus and Streptococcus as well as common skin fungi, such as athlete's foot fungus has also been well recognized.
